Identity sits underneath almost every presenting issue clients bring into the counselling room, and it directly shapes formulation, rapport, treatment planning, and outcomes. 

The ACA 2026 Identity Symposium will explore how identity is shaped, disrupted, and reconstructed across a range of contemporary practice contexts. The program sessions will examine identity through topics including pregnancy loss and parenting, domestic and family violence, eating disorders and body image, disability, and isolation.
